My office is quiet today, besides the Jack Johnson that is playing on my computer, because Nathan and Chris are not in the office and it has me thinking. Good co-workers make all the difference, donʼt they! I love the team that I get to work with which includes the ministry staff here at Suncrest, the paid Student Life staff (Chris, Nathan & Robin), and my great youth leaders. I love our ministry team. Greg has done a great job putting that team together. However, I want to take a minute and introduce you to my team. Chris has been on our staff for almost 2 years now. He started out as an unpaid intern, and now is the Student Life Director at our East Campus. Nathan is in the middle of a yearlong internship that started in June. Robin had no idea what she was getting into when she joined Suncrest as an administrative assistant and got assigned to help me out. However, she has done a great job adjusting to the insanity of Student Ministry, and I honestly donʼt know what I would do without her at this point. They are a great team and I am blessed to have them around. Sometimes I think back to when I first got to Suncrest and I was the Student Life department. Man those were crazy times!
Then I have my youth leaders. There are over 20 of them now! Think about that for a second. There are over 20 people who are pouring into students lives at some of the most difficult seasons in life. I look back to when I was a teenager and remember the great youth leaders I had, and think about the influence they had in my life. I know that these adults will have the same kind of impact in the lives of the students at Suncrest.
One of the reasons I have spent time introducing you to the Student Life team is because I am opening this blog up to them to increase the amount of posts and traffic. The reality is that Student Life Ministries is so much bigger than Jared Mehrle and I think you should get to hear from them as well. So in the future, there will be a signature at the bottom letting you know who has made each post.
